Choosing the right therapist involves finding someone you feel you can trust and work with. It is also important that the person has undertaken a thorough and rigorous training, and is appropriately registered with the relevant professional bodies.
I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I have a Postgrad Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling from WPF Therapy.
WPF Therapy is regarded as one of the leading counselling and psychotherapy training organisations in the UK with a reputation for both clinical and academic excellence.
I am a full member of the WPF’s graduate organisation, the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC). This foundation has the highest code of ethics, and a complaints procedure that ensures proper standards of care, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
In addition, I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and am a professional member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). These organisations are the two largest professional bodies for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK, and are known for appropriately trained and qualified members. Their role is to promote, maintain and uphold the highest standards in psychotherapy throughout the UK, and they regard public accountability of paramount importance.
In addition to my private practice I have clinical experience in various mental health settings: having worked as a counsellor for various employee assistance programmes, community counselling services and therapeutic agencies.
I offer both short term and open ended psychotherapy and counselling. Depending on your needs this will be discussed when we first meet. Sessions are 50 minutes long, usually once or twice a week at the same time every week. You do not need to be referred by your GP. I am BUPA Health registered.
